Phoenix , the Capital : Arizona

Phoenix is situated in the southwestern part of the United States in the Maricopa County. It is the capital of Arizona and the fifth largest city in the United States covering an area of more than 500 square miles. There are approximately 1.5 million residents in the city.
Phoenix is in the Salt River valley, at the edge of the Sonoran Desert. Since settlers built their homes on the site of a former village the city is named Phoenix, the fabled bird that rose from its ashes. The latitude of Phoenix is 33.448N. The longitude is -112.073W. Elevation is 1,086 feet.
The optimal climate of Phoenix makes it a preferred destination among tourists. Many big companies like Motorola, Intel, Honeywell have their offices in this city
