Peoria : Arizona

Peoria is a city in Maricopa County, in the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area on Lake Pleasant. It is the ninth largest city of Arizona with a population of 138,143 in 2006.The community was named after Peoria, Illinois.
Peoria is located in the Northwest portion of the Valley of the Sun with the state capital of Phoenix and the neighboring city of Glendale to the east, and the retirement community of Sun City to the west. It is also an important suburb of Phoenix. The total city area is 177.9 sq mi, stretching northward to include Lake Pleasant.

Peoria's pleasant desert climate and wide variety of activities makes it a very attractive place to live, conduct business, or simply visit.
